Radium Girls
Presented by the Artists of Concordia Theatre, D.W. Gregory's Radium Girls tells the true story of the women and girls who make labor history by taking on the U.S. Radium Corporation. Once assured of their safety, the dial painters for the luminous watch manufacturer begin to suffer and die from radiation-induced necrosis. As the corporation denies responsibility for the poisoning, these courageous women fight for justice in a saga that exposes the brutal intersections of gender, science, and capital. Gregory's quick, witty, and unflinching retelling shines critical light on this story of corporate greed and human dignity that has captured audiences both then and now.
